Upcoming Parent Practicum

Our local parent practicum will be held in Moultrie  June 25-27  from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Practicum Daily Schedule
8:30 am: Registration Begins/Bookstore Open
9:00 am: Training Begins/Student Camps Begin
12:00 – 1:00 pm:  Lunch Hour (**Parents are responsible for their children during this hour**)
Bookstore Open
1:00-4:00 pm: Parent Training/Tutor Training/Student Camps
4:00-4:30 pm: Book Sales

Morning Session 9:00 a.m. to 12:00
All parents will meet in the social hall to listen to Katherine McClanahan speak on Classical Conversations and Classical Education. The focus this year will be on Latin the benefits Latin brings to our education.

Afternoon Sessions 1:00-4:00
There are two choices for the afternoon session:

  1. Foundations and Essentials Tutor Training
    Directors/Tutors will receive training in the afternoon from 1-4 p.m. Essentials Tutor Training will be with Margie Holman and Foundations Tutor Training will be with Cyndee Keel. All Directors and Tutors attending tutor training will receive an email from their tutor training with instructions on what to bring.
  2. Afternoon Social Hall Session Day 1 will include Homeschooling through High School: A Window Into Challenge.
    Please stay to listen to Kathryn and Jane speak on their personal experience with the Challenge program and the High School years as well as their insight into the Challenge program and its benefits. Day 2 will include an exciting panel/forum that will give you an idea of what a NON CC Day looks like in their home. There will be a Q&A session to follow so come prepared with your questions. Day 3 Afternoon Session will be An In Depth Look into the Essentials of the English Language program. Whether you are familiar with Classical Conversations afternoon program are not, you will benefit from the insight into what Essentials program is and how to make it work in your home. You will not regret the knowledge you will gain from these more intimate afternoon sessions.
